• All current TK- 7th grade students enrolled in Paramount USD are eligible to attend the Summer Program. 
• Current 9th-11th grade students will be invited to Summer School based on credit recovery or acceleration needs. Current 12th grade summer graduates will also be invited.  
• Current 8th graders are eligible for math acceleration only. *See the school counselor for more information.  
• *Current 12th  grade students at any high school campus who will be a summer graduate will be invited to attend their site. 

The summer academic program will be taught by Paramount USD teachers for grades K-12. Grades K-8 will focus on literacy and math skills while the high school program will focus on credit recovery and math acceleration. 

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is the afternoon portion of the summer program supported by Think Together. ELO-P provides enrichment activities in subjects such as sports, the arts, STEM, culinary, and more for grades K-8. 

Students will be placed in their grade for the 2026-2027 school year. 

• Current TK-4th grade students will attend the summer program at an Elementary School site. 
• Current 5th – 7th grade students will attend the Middle School Program at Alondra Middle School. 
• Current 8th-11th grade students will attend the High School Program. 

Yes, current TK students may enroll in summer school as a Kindergarten student.

• July 10, 2026 - Students will have the opportunity to attend an all-day enrichment field trip facilitated by Think Together. 

• At the elementary sites (grades K-5), the academic program will be from 8:00-12:15. 
• At the middle school site (grades 6-8), the academic program will be from 8:30-12:45. 
• PHS: Session A: 8:30, 11:30, Session B: 12:00-3:00 
• Odyssey: 8:30-1:15 
• Buena Vista: 8:30-1:15 

Yes, breakfast will be served daily, 30 minutes before the academic program starts, and all students are eligible.

• Jefferson Elementary School – If your child is enrolled in Paramount USD and their home school/current school of attendance is Mokler, Collins, Jefferson or Gaines. 
• Los Cerritos Elementary School - If your child is enrolled in Paramount USD and their home school/current school of attendance is Tanner, Los Cerritos, Hollydale or Keppel. 
• Lincoln Elementary School - If your child is enrolled in Paramount USD and their home school/current school of attendance is Roosevelt, Wirtz or Lincoln. 
• Alondra Middle School - If your child is enrolled in Paramount USD and is currently in 5th, 6th or 7th grade. 
• Paramount High School, Senior Campus – If your child is enrolled in a Paramount USD Middle School as an 8th grade student, enrolled at Paramount High School West Campus as a 9th grade student, or Paramount High School as a 10th-11th. 
• Odyssey High School – If your child is enrolled in Odyssey High School as a current 9th, 10th, or 11th grade student. 
• Buena Vista High School – If your child is enrolled in Buena Vista (BV) High School as a current 11th grade student.

Registration for the summer program opens Monday, March 23, 2026, and will close Friday, May 22, 2026. Registrations will be processed in the order they are received. Students will be placed on a waiting list if the registration is received after classes have reached full capacity. 

Parents may check their child out at any time. 

Transportation will be available for elementary and middle school students who are attending a summer program at a school outside of their regular attendance area. Families will receive bus pick-up and drop-off details by email prior to the start of the program. 

If a student requires transportation as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), the Special Education Department will work with the parent and the IEP team to make transportation arrangements for the student. 

Wearing a uniform is not required for summer school. 

Students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) are encouraged to take advantage of summer program offerings provided to all students. For eligible students for Extended School Year (ESY) services designated within their IEP, parents will receive a separate registration form from their case carrier. 

• Current students in grades TK – 7 can register for the Summer Program through ParentVUE. 
• Current High School students should work directly with their counselor to sign up for Summer School.

Elementary and Middle School students will have opportunities to participate in FREE field trips facilitated by our partner, Think Together. 

Elementary and Middle School students will be provided field trip packets for parents to complete. The field trip packet will include a permission slip, medical release, and other forms. Packets must be returned to Think Together by the due date stated on the packet in order to reserve a spot on the field trip. Waitlists will be created if interest exceeds available spots.

There will be field trip opportunities on June 13, June 27, and July 11.

No. Field trips are not mandatory. Parents should only complete packets for the field trips they are interested in.

Transportation for Elementary and Middle School students will be available every summer program day. (June 19 and July 4 are non-program days.)

Breakfast, lunch, and snack will be provided.

Ensure that the summer program staff receive the appropriate documentation from the doctor and the medication. 

Yes. ELD will be part of the Elementary program. If the student is in Middle School, they should sign up for ELD support class. High School students should work with their counselor to ID which class to take during the summer that would help them the most.

High school students can only earn 5 to 10 initial credits for one class during the Summer that they have not completed before. However, if a student is trying to make up credits for a class they received a D or F grade in, it is possible to make up more credits. In either case, the student and parent should work with their counselor to make sure they are attending the correct class for the summer.
