Celebrating Our School Social Workers

Celebrating Our School Social Workers

This week, we proudly recognize the social workers who serve our school community. Their work often happens quietly, but the impact is seen every day on our campuses.

School social workers play an important role in supporting our students’ social and emotional well-being. When a student feels overwhelmed, anxious, or faces challenges at home, a social worker is there to listen and help. They guide students through difficult moments and teach healthy ways to cope and grow.

Their support also includes meeting basic needs. Whether helping a student find clothing, school supplies, or other personal items, social workers step in with care and compassion. This support helps students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.

Social workers also partner closely with teachers and staff. They provide guidance and training on how to support students in the classroom. They share strategies to build positive relationships, manage strong emotions, and create safe learning spaces across campus. Their leadership strengthens the entire school community.

At Paramount Unified, we are committed to creating a nurturing and emotionally safe environment where every student can thrive. Our social workers help bring that commitment to life each day.

We are thankful for our social workers and the powerful difference they make for students, staff, and families.
