Odyssey STEM Academy Seniors Honored for Achievement, Character, and Community Suppor

On May 26, Odyssey STEM Academy celebrated its graduating seniors during Senior Awards Night at the Paramount High School West Campus Auditorium. Families, friends, District leaders, Board of Education members, and Superintendent Dr. Joshua L. Lightle gathered to recognize the accomplishments, perseverance, and bright futures of the Class of 2026. The event was hosted by Principal Alicia Megofna and senior class advisors.

Throughout the evening, scholars were recognized for academic achievement, leadership, scholarship awards, and service to their school and community. Special honors were presented to Valedictorian Allfred Izaguirre, Salutatorian Elaine Picado, and Student Board Member Kayla Vargas, whose leadership and dedication have helped strengthen the Odyssey STEM Academy community and elevate student voice throughout the District. The ceremony also highlighted the remarkable network of support surrounding scholars, with scholarships and awards made possible through the generosity of local residents, community organizations, and partners including PTA, the Management Association of Paramount Schools, the Teachers Association of Paramount, and many others.

A distinctive feature of Odyssey STEM Academy’s awards program was its celebration of character through the school’s core values of Strong Heart, Strong Will, and Strong Mind. Scholars who demonstrated these qualities received honor cords recognizing their commitment to compassion, resilience, determination, and academic excellence. The evening served as a meaningful reflection of Odyssey’s commitment to developing not only successful scholars, but also thoughtful and capable future leaders prepared to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
