Paramount Unified School District Celebrates Culture and Community at Hispanic Heritage Celebration

Paramount Unified School District came together on Friday, September 25, for an unforgettable evening celebrating Hispanic culture, heritage, and community.

Families, students, staff, and community members filled Alondra Middle School for the District’s annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration, creating a vibrant evening centered on culture, connection, and pride.

The celebration brought together members of the Paramount Unified School District community, including the PUSD Board of Education and Superintendent Joshua Lightle, Ed.D., who joined families and staff in celebrating the many cultures and traditions represented throughout the district.

The program opened with leadership from our PUSD Student Board Members, who welcomed attendees and helped kick off the evening’s festivities.

Throughout the event, PUSD students and staff showcased their talent through a variety of performances, highlighting music and dance traditions from across the Hispanic community. Featured performances included:

  • Alondra Leadership & Cheer- Flag Opening

  • Hollydale Mariachi

  • Keppel Dual Language Immersion

  • Paramount Park Dance

  • Paramount High School Mariachi

  • Zamboni Dance Team, featuring salsa and folklórico

From mariachi and music to salsa and folklórico, the performances celebrated the rich cultural traditions represented across Paramount Unified School District while giving students an opportunity to share their talents with their families and community.

The evening was a reflection of the spirit behind this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration: Our Culture. Our Stories. Our Community.

Paramount Unified School District extends a heartfelt thank you to all of the students, families, staff members, performers, volunteers, and community members who helped make the celebration such a memorable evening.
