Paramount Unified School District Appoints Two New Educational Leaders

Paramount, CA — The Paramount Unified School District Board of Education approved the appointments of Ms. Jennifer Romero as Principal of Wirtz Elementary School and Dr. Joseph Archival as Coordinator of Career Technical Education (CTE) & College/Career at its June 24 Board of Education meeting.  

Ms. Jennifer Romero brings more than 25 years of experience in elementary education and instructional leadership. She began her career as a classroom teacher in the Duarte Unified School District before serving as a Teaching and Learning Coach and Outreach Consultant. In 2011, she was appointed Principal of Mountain View Elementary School in the Azusa Unified School District and, for the past 12 years, has served as Principal of Beardslee Elementary School in the Duarte Unified School District. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Romero has earned a reputation as a collaborative, student-centered leader committed to instructional excellence, educational equity, and building strong partnerships with students, staff, and families. She is widely respected for successfully leading instructional initiatives while fostering positive school cultures centered on student achievement. 

Dr. Joseph Archival brings more than 25 years of experience in education spanning higher education, K–12 instruction, and educational leadership. After beginning his career as a college instructor in the Philippines, he served as a middle school teacher, high school Physics teacher, and Assistant Principal in both the Huntington Beach Union High School District and the Rowland Unified School District. For the past two years, he has served as Assistant Principal at Paramount Unified's Odyssey STEM Academy, where he has supported student achievement. 

A respected instructional leader, Dr. Archival has extensive experience in STEM education, project-based learning, and career readiness. He has successfully developed partnerships that expand internships, increase dual enrollment, and Career Technical Education pathways, and is recognized for his collaborative leadership and data-driven approach to improving student outcomes.
